Blurb :

Dear Reader,
I wrote this book to remind you to never give up on hope in times of pitch-black darkness. I know you are falling weak, your steps are faltering, sceptical of whether you should keep moving forward. I wanted this book to remind you that you are a fighter, and that no matter how many thorns lie ahead, you have to keep moving forward to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope this book helps you find acceptance in the shadows of self-loathing and hopelessness and teaches you to identify your own rarity in this world of 8 billion. May the words written between these pages teach you how to discern the beauty in the aura of the dark.

With love
Your poet,
Deblina

Review :

My Black Rose by Deblina Bhattacharya is a collection of poems which will take you on a journey towards healing.

A collection of 84 poems divided into three sections, Wounded, Scarred and Healing, My Black Rose by Deblina Bhattacharya is her second collection of poems. The writing in her poems are semi prose and semi poetry and have a very strong ‘relate’ factor to them. Hurt, being shattered and gradually picking up our pieces over the time, these are the things we all of us have experienced at least once in our life through this order. This adds that factor of ‘relate’ to the poems for the readers. It’s admirable how she’s written the poems in raw yet brave manner. It does tend to give one hope about things being allright. However, the major portion of the poems being in the first two sections – Wounded and Scarred, give a dark vibe to the book. It may tend to bring a sense of heaviness while reading, i.e. the plethora of those. So, the number of poetry could be reduced or their themes could be balanced. The book on physical appearance appears to be very compact, decent and beautiful and the cover design is quite minimal and fit.

A voyage towards regeneration, My Black Rose is recommended to beginners and to the ones who like reading about hurt at a depth.

Thanks to the Debina Bhattacharya for sending me the review copy in exchange of an honest review.
